1	C	dates
1	C	hot water
1/2	tsp	soda
		Mix together and let stand until cake is mixed.
1	Tbsp	Shorting
1	C	sugar
1		egg - beat well
		Add together with date mixture and 1/2 C nuts, 1 tsp Baking Powder and 1 1/2 C flour.
