Arrange prepared apples in well-greased 9-inch square pan or well-greased 2-quart casserole. Sprinkle with water and lemon juice. Spook flour (unsifted) into dry measuring cup. Level off and pour measured flour into bowl. Add sugars and cinnamon to flour (unsifted). Stir well to blend. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles course meal. Spoon crumb mixture evenly over apples. Bake at 375% for 40-50 minutes. Serve cold or warm with whipped cream if desired. Yields 9 servings. |
