5Cflour, sifted
1/4Csugar
1Tbaking powder
1tsoda
1 1/4tsalt
1Cshortening
1pkgyeast
2Twarm water
2Cbuttermilk

Sift dry ingredients together. Dissolve yeast in warm water, add to buttermilk. Cut shortening into dry ingredients. Stir buttermilk into flour and mix well. Turn onto lightly floured board. Roll out to 1/4” thick. Cut out with biscuit cutter. Dip in melted butter. Fold in half and bake (without rising) at 400 degrees, 15 minutes.
Dough may be kept in refrigerator 3-4 weeks.
