Snickerdoodles

Mix thoroughly:
1Csoft shortening (part butter)
1.5csugar
2eggs

Sift together and stir in:
2.75Csifted flour
2tcream of tartar
1tbaking soda
.25tsalt

Mix together in small bowl:
2Tsugar
2tcinnamon

Roll into balls the size of small walnuts, then coat with cinnamon sugar mixture. Place 2” apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 until lightly browned, but still soft, about 8-10 minutes. (These cookies puff up at first then flatten out.) Makes 5 dozen 2” cookies.
