Public Peeing!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

We went to the park this morning. I put Camden in a pull-up so I wouldn’t have to deal with any potential messes. It was time to go potty so I got out the portable potty chair that I bought and he would have nothing to do with it (we’re going to have to work on that) so we had to trek to the pubic restroom, which really wasn’t very close. But, he peed in a pubic restroom, so that was pretty good. Of course, my friends’ girls had no problem just peeing in the bushes, I thought it was funny that the girls would, but not my boy. One even used our portable potty. At least someone got use of it! With only a couple of hours until bedtime, we have had no accidents today. YAY CAMDEN! Even when he had pull-ups on, he stayed dry. He even stayed dry all night long last night! Wow! That amazes me because we would sometimes have mornings where he would wake up soaked through before we started training.

Brian is out of town now until Friday so it’s just me and the boys. Tomorrow I’m taking Camden to see The Wiggles with Claire and Daniel. Brittani and JR are going to watch Parker for me while we are at the concert.

Every Potty Has a Pooper

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Camden has been doing really well with his potty training. I was a bit afraid how he would do with pooping on the potty since he had never done that before. He went a whole day without going at all and I was worried he would end up constipated because he was afraid to go on the potty. Well, he has proven that theory very wrong. He went three times yesterday and once today (plus one accident today, oops!) Yesterday morning he came running upstairs to inform me that he “went the brown pee pees… one, two brown pee pees.” I loved his explanation! Parker is now grabbing at the computer so I guess I’ll call it quits before we have a catastrophe!

On today’s menu….

Snails, playdough and Easter grass! Yes, Parker tried to eat all of these things today! Man this kid keeps me on my toes! He has also officially cut tooth #7. I guess with 7 teeth he’s always looking for something to chew on!

Big Boy!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Camden wore big boy underwear today! I finally decided to take the plunge and take away the diapers. I figured he didn’t really have the incentive to learn how to figure out when he needed to go if he had a diaper on. So, all day today he sat on the potty after every 30 minutes and tried to go. Before nap we had a few accidents, but that was expected. He wore a pull up for nap and stayed dry and went on the potty after nap, he didn’t have any more accidents for the rest of the day! Yay Camden!

We spent a lot of time outside today. I intentionally waited until we had good weather so we could be outside during the potty training. I’d much rather him have accidents outside! Of course one was in the house when he came in to look for a toy. Figures! He spent some time painting on his easel. One time he ran over to me exclaiming, “mommy, a smiley face!” I went to look and this is what I saw.

I think this is the first painting that has had a real shape. Too cool!

Wild Animal Park

Friday, March 14th, 2008

We went to the Wild Animal Park today with a few moms from playgroup. It was such a nice day and not too hot, like it often is there. There were lots of new things for us to see and explore. They now have an elevator that makes it so that you don’t have to climb a really evil hill which is awesome! The hill is bad but when you are trying to push two kids in a stroller that makes it so much worse! They also had a neat little discovery area for kids to read books, play with plastic animals, color, do puzzles, etc. Camden and his friend Mia had a good time there and Brittani and I enjoyed sitting down for a few minutes!! We took lots of pictures, here are just a few….

Walk Talk

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Yes, there have been a lot of posts today… but I couldn’t resist sharing this! We went for a walk this evening after dinner and Camden and I had the best conversation!

C: Look, the moon

J: Oh, yeah, the moon

C: There’s a piece missing

I need to put it back together

J: Where’s the missing piece

C: A bird ate it

Gotta love it!

“That’s weird”

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Camden’s new phrase is, “that’s weird.” I was explaining pull-ups to him the other day and he replied by saying, “hmmm, that’s kinda weird.” Totally cracked me up. Yesterday we were looking at a truck on the road and talking about the colors. He asked where the blue was so I told him a couple places and he said, “on the flag?” I agreed and his response, “that’s weird” Yesterday afternoon we were playing baseball outside and he had a really good hit and he replied with, “that’s not weird.” I really don’t think he knows what it means, but it sure is cute when he says it :) On another note, he’s pretty good at baseball, for an almost three year old. It does take a well placed pitch by mom, but he sometimes can really crank it! He does really well when we use a big ball but is actually pretty good with a small one too. His Uncle John will be so proud.

Tooth #6

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Yup, another tooth has broken through. You can’t see it yet, but you can feel it if you are brave enough to stick your finger in there! This one is the top middle left (I think)

waving?

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Parker has started the backwards wave. We aren’t sure if it’s intentional or not, but it sure is cute :) Sometimes he does it in response to us waving at him and sometimes he just seems to be discovering his hand and thinking, “wow, it wiggles.”

Other news… well, he’s now eating, gerber puffs, rice cereal, squash, sweet potatoes, applesauce, peas and green beans. He also occasionally gets little bites of bread or rice to keep him entertained while we eat.

Parker is a pro crawler now, it’s crazy how fast he moves and how he immediately finds everything we don’t want him to find. Of course, now that he really gets around, the gate at the top of the stairs broke so we need to get that fixed. He also is getting really good at pulling himself up on furniture and toys. It’s pretty amazing. I really hope he waits a while before he starts walking. I have some cute videos of Parker and Camden playing, I’ll try to get them uploaded soon. We have some new pictures too, just need to be uploaded.
