Happy October

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Camden officially loves school! Every day he asks if he’s going to school and when I say no he asks why and then asks when he does get to go to school. It’s great! He still has a small bit of anxiety when I drop him off but it’s hardly noticible anymore. When I pick him up he’s so excited to tell me all about his day. Usually the first thing he tells me is that he played with play-doh or tha the didn’t play with play-doh.

According to Camden his birthday is always “tomorrow”. He’s really into birthdays right now. He stacks up his books and calls them cakes. He piles all of his toys in the middle of the room and says they are presents and then he brings them to me to open. Sometimes when he goes for nap or up for bed, he asks me not to put away his cakes or presents.

My friend Anette is here from Sweden and will be staying with us until early December. At first Camden wasn’t sure what to think of her, but very quickly he warmed up to her and now she’s his best friend. He absolutely loves her. When we’ve been out and are on our way home he always asks what Anette is doing and will we see her when we get home. It’s very cute. It’s also very nice for when I run to the store or something and he stays home with her, he has absolutely no separation issues when he stays with her. One night he even asked her to put him down at bedtime :) Brian has been out of town this weekend and it’s been so nice to have an extra set of hands around the house.

More KY

I know there are a bunch of things that I left out of the last post. The most traumatic (for me at least) was that Camden got his first tick bite! Ewwwwww! I felt creepy crawly for the next couple of days. Daddy took care of it and all is well.

Camden enjoyed all of the animals on the farm. There is a dog and a few cats and cows. The first day we went to the farm, Camden looked out the car window and said, “look a kitty cat… well, it was a brown lab named Roy. Ok. Whatever. We go into the house and Camden looks out the window and declares, “pigs!” Um, no… cows! Seriously? I swear my kid knows his animals! Both boys enjoyed playing with “Lucy Cat” at mammaw and pappaw’s house. Parker would just giggle and giggle when he got to pet her (or grab her tail).

I’m sure there is more to say, I update when I think of things.

Kentucky

Monday, April 28th, 2008

We spent a week in Kentucky visiting Mammaw and Pappaw and Aunt Carol and Uncle Alan. The boys did great on the plane rides which is always such a relief. Both times there was extra space on the long flight between San Diego and Atlanta so we had space to spread out a bit. Here are our boys on the ride there…

While we were there Parker was baptized at Pappaw’s church. He represents the 6th generation of Scotts to either be baptized at or members of this little church in Kentucky.

Camden’s favorite things were the tractors and picking dandilions. He spent many hours “picking flowers”.

Camden also helped daddy get the garden ready

And last, here is a family photo from when we went to visit Uncle Alan at UK

More photos can be found in our photo gallery (link on the right).

Public Peeing!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

We went to the park this morning. I put Camden in a pull-up so I wouldn’t have to deal with any potential messes. It was time to go potty so I got out the portable potty chair that I bought and he would have nothing to do with it (we’re going to have to work on that) so we had to trek to the pubic restroom, which really wasn’t very close. But, he peed in a pubic restroom, so that was pretty good. Of course, my friends’ girls had no problem just peeing in the bushes, I thought it was funny that the girls would, but not my boy. One even used our portable potty. At least someone got use of it! With only a couple of hours until bedtime, we have had no accidents today. YAY CAMDEN! Even when he had pull-ups on, he stayed dry. He even stayed dry all night long last night! Wow! That amazes me because we would sometimes have mornings where he would wake up soaked through before we started training.

Brian is out of town now until Friday so it’s just me and the boys. Tomorrow I’m taking Camden to see The Wiggles with Claire and Daniel. Brittani and JR are going to watch Parker for me while we are at the concert.

Tooth #3

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Parker cut his third tooth. He’s not any less cranky though! Today he has been especially clingy and grumpy. He’s happy when he’s eating…. moo! We tried green beans for the first time today and he though they were worth eating.

Today we went to a birthday party and the boys had fun.l Hullaballo was there, which was kind of funny since he will be at Camden’s party next Saturday :) Parker showed off his crawling skills when he was in a good mood. The best part was that I got to shop for girl clothes! Not something I get to do very often :)

Parker is 6 months & trip to Montana

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Ugh…. this software is no compatable with Windows Vista and Firefox and I keep forgetting it! I keep writing posts and then they get erased. Boo! Ok, take two….

Parker is 6 months old now. Before we left for our trip he had his 6 month appointment. He is 28 inches long and weighs 19 lbs 14 oz. His head is 45 3/4 cm. His weight gain has slowed down but it’s not too surprising with all of the jumping he does in his Jumparoo! We got home last night and I put Parker down on the floor and he started crawling! He’s been so close for so long and he finally did it. He also got himself almost up into a sitting position. He’ll have that mastered in no time. He’s growing up so fast. He is also eating rice cereal, squash and sweet potatoes. We tried peas once but he really was not impressed, we’ll try again one of these days.

We have been in Montana visiting grandma and grandpa for the past 10 days. We all had a great time, especially Camden! He had so much fun playing in the snow. It only snowed a couple of times while we were there but there was snow on the ground the whole time. Camden rolled down the hill, jumped down and landed on his bottom, slid down the hill on his bottom and on his tummy and burried daddy in the snow (then walked on him.) He slept in a big twin bed (and only fell out twice….) Camden also enjoyed eating snow, making snowcones with daddy and making homemade ice cream.

Mommy and daddy got away for a night while we were there. We went to The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. It was the first time we left Parker over night and he did well. I spent all week pumping so they would have enough milk for Parker. I’m so glad that I don’t have to pump every morning any more! I even got to go to the spa while we were there and had a great sugar & ginger scrub and massage! Dinner at the lodge was really good too.

Lots of updates

Friday, February 1st, 2008

It’s been a while since my last update (what else is new!) Lets start with what Camden had for dinner tonight…. two hot dogs, a yogurt and chicken curry!! Moose! And, he kept asking for more. Just before bedtime he kept asking for more… “how about some cheese?”… “daddy, how about an apple?” I wonder if he’s growing? Camden has become a super pee-er. Currently his motivation is candy. We’ll have to figure out how to curb that later. We have a basket of halloween candy that is left and we need to get rid of that and just give him a few m&m’s otherwise he’s going to OD on candy. The important part is that he is going on the potty and that’s pretty cool - especially since we aren’t actually putting much effort yet into the whole potty training thing.

Parker wants to crawl so badly! He’s getting pretty close too. He gets up on his hands and feet sometimes and he gets on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. He moves backwards but not forward yet. He has tried peas and made some great faces. Unfortunately when we got the camera out he stopped with the faces. Oh well. Lately he appears to have forgotten how to eat… he sticks his tounge out and blows raspberries at us and makes a big old mess of mushy food and drool… gotta love it! He has really discovered his tongue lately so it’s actually pretty cute - especially since he has a big smile on his face when he does it. He’s also discovered his toes. Every time I try to change his diaper he sticks his feet up in the air then tries to chew on his toes.

Our family has been hit by some sickness lately but we are on the mend. Thankfully Parker has stayed pretty healthy. He sounded a little hoarse today but that’s it so far. Brian, Camden and I have all had a stomach virus. We’re all better now. Brian and Camden have a cold that they are recovering from. So far I have stayed away from the cold - which is only fair since the stomach bug hit me way harder than them. I lost about 8 lbs in two days. Ick! We’re getting better so that’s what’s important now!

On a more positive note, we finally have tile on our bathroom floors! WOOHOO!!!! We always hated that the bathrooms are carpeted so this is great. I’ll take pictures soon and post them.

That’s all for now!

New Blog

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

I haven’t been very good at keeping up with separate blogs for the boys, so I decided it was time to just have one consolidated blog for the whole family. Now you only have to check one place for updates on all of us!
