And so it begins….

Tuesday: “Camden, what did you do at school today?” Answer: “stuff.” Today: “Camden, what did you do at school today?” Answer: “nothing.”

So, Camden has officially started preschool. On Tuesday they had a short “get acquainted” day and I went to school with him. He really seemed to enjoy himself but was very anxious any time we talked about me leaving next time.

Today was his first official day with no parents. We had a rough start. Once he realized what we were doing today he became very difficult (hiding under the table, refusing to go potty, etc.) We were a little late but we got there! There was lots of crying in the car - except when we saw the concrete truck and were able to have a good conversation about that. When we go there his class was in the play room so his teacher came out to get him. I said good bye and told him that I would always come back for him when school was over. She took him into the playroom and Parker and I had a morning just for us. We picked him up after class and it appears that he had a pretty good day. He pouted some but did recover so that was good to hear. He was sitting at the table playing with blocks when I got there. He was excited to show me the picture that he colored. I wonder if eh talked at all at school, because he has been a chatterbox since the moment I picked him up!

A few pictures from our first day:

Parker Update

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

I might have to split this one up a bit… Parker changes so much so fast!

Happy birthday to my baby boy!!!! Parker turned 1 on August 15. Where did the last year go?!?!?! I can’t believe how fast the time has gone! Parker started walking just before 10 months and is now running after his brother! He likes to be a gardener just like Camden. He’ll take the toy saw, walk to the bushes and hold it against it just like the big boys do. Brian has also heard him make the gardener noise just like Camden does.

The day after Parker turned one we heard him say his first non-mama/dada type words… he started with “goggle”. We were in Palm Springs and he wanted Camden’s swim goggles. The next day he started saying “uh oh”, and the next day “all gone”. He also says “bear”, “ball”, “tickle”, “fish”. All animals say “baa”. Some of the words are clearer than others, but in context it’s pretty easy to know what he’s saying.

We had Parker’s birthday party a week before his birthday. I think he enjoyed his party. We had Italian Ice, Rubios and cake and cupcakes! He got lots of new toys for his birthday and has had fun playing with all of them (so has big brother!)

I’m tired of updates…. Parker pictures and the dramas of Brian’s beloved left shoe coming soon…..

Bad hair day…. then a haircut!

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

Parker had a seriously bad hair day today!

So…. we decided it was time for his first haircut! We just took him to Fantastic Sams where daddy gets his hair cut. The girl was super fast. Parker was not a fan, but it was over fast enough, so it was not too traumatic.

9 months

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

It’s hard to believe that Parker is 9 months old already! The time goes by so fast. He had his 9 month check up on Monday and it was a little more eventful than I would have preferred. It started out well enough. He was being cute and curious for the nurse and doctor and they thought he was just great. The pedi looked in his left ear and asked if he’d had a cold recently. yup. Well, it wasn’t infected but had a little fluid so we just needed to keep an eye on it. Then she moved on to the right ear - that one was infected. He didnt’ have a fever and it didn’t seem to be bothering him but because he’s so young she wanted to go ahead and treat with antibiotics. I’m good with that. Then she tries to check his hips and they won’t budge, she can’t rotate them at all. Obviously she doesn’t want to use so much force that she hurts him. She’s never had concern for his hips before but wants to be cautious so she sends him for a hip x-ray. A toe pick to checck for iron and two shots and we were off to the imaging lab for the x-ray. He did so good, and layed there nice and still while mommy held his legs in a frog position. We got a call a couple of hours later that everything was just fine. He was just being a big stinker and didn’t want his hips rotated. When I’m feeling less lazy and get out to the car to find his stats sheet, I’ll update with height and weight, etc. His head was off the charts. The nurse measured twice :)

While we were at the pedi I asked her about an inhaler for Camden. Last week (while getting over a cold) he had a couple of coughing spells that worried me a little bit. He’s had this before but I’ve always been able to sit him down to read a book or play quietly and he settles right down. It’s a lot harder to get him to sit down now, especially in the middle of a party! At the end of each cough was an awful whistling sound that I had not heard before. So, now we have an emergency inhaler for him, just in case!

Both boys have to go back in a month to get checked. Fun (especially since Camden screamed at her last time he was there… not a fan.)

Camden’s measurements

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Mommy’s hand measures “ten” and Parker’s head measures “ten dollars” Gotta love it!

Such a Gentleman

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Mia came over Saturday evening to play in Camden’s jumper with him… she brought her family too :) Mia was a bit scared to come down the slide so Camden was the perfect gentleman and held her hand to help her down. Too cute!
